Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Gala

  • Government Ballroom 13 Saint Georges Terrace Perth, WA, 6000 Australia (map)

About the Event

An intimate showcase of Western Australia’s brightest young talents and a celebration of Community Arts at its best.

Featuring sensational MetSO Young Artists: Alexander Chua (piano), Ellie Malonzo (violin/composer) and Charis Postmus (soprano); as well as special guest soloist, MetSO Conductor and world-renowned violinist Ronald Thomas AM, with the participation of acclaimed concert pianist Lydia Lai.

There will also be performances by our friends the Echoes of Ukraine Choir as well as the MetSO Full Orchestra and Chamber Ensembles conducted by distinguished conductor Bruce Herriman.

A wonderful program of old favourites and new works including Bach's timeless Double Violin Concerto, a new arrangement by our very own Concertmaster Ben Clapton (of Leontovych’s "Shchedryk"), Gordon Jacob's inventive "Old Wine in New Bottles" and Wieniawski’s Polonaise in A Major.
